The Candidates for CD 5 and Please Stay Safe!

Thanks to everyone who attended the virtual Council District 5 Candidate Forum on March 21st hosted by the Association.  We heard from the three top polling candidates:  Sam Yebri, Katy Yaroslavsky and Jimmy Biblarz and they answered questions, stated their vision for the future of Los Angeles and Hancock Park and made their case for why they should be our representative on the City Council.  If you missed the forum you can watch and listen at:  https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/share/LymvaANT8btBJUZo0yJMJFObFa8oX979bKOQKg7z-MEZUxeLhC3_LqXriPfxJCt8.izU42WVLgs0_LsDN

The upcoming election will be critically important to the future of our neighborhood and City.  Our Council Member is our representative with City government and having a responsible and responsive member is vitally important to the quality of life in our community.  We will also be choosing a new mayor and the Association plans to host a mayoral candidate forum after the primary.

And Stay Safe:  There are three security services that offer protection in Hancock Park:  1) SSA - SSA Security Guards & Neighborhood Patrol in Los Angeles | SSA Security (ssa-securitygroup.com); 2) ADT - ADT Home Security Systems | Los Angeles, CA | ADT.com and 3) Magen AM - Magen Am USA.  Please consider subscribing to one or more of these patrols.  The LAPD is hard pressed to provide protection throughout an enormous city of millions of people.  Private security supplement public services and keep our neighborhood safe.

Remember to alert your neighbors and the police if you see something suspicious.  Leave outside lights on overnight.  Lock your car.  Lock your house. Set the alarm if you have one and consider installing one if you don’t.  Stay alert on walks and while getting in and out of your car.  Walk with a friend when possible.

Please see our website at www.HancockPark.org! Join a committee! Come to a Zoom Meeting!
